Lay down, your sweet and weary head. Night is falling. You have come to journeys end.
Sleep now, and dream of the ones who came before. They are calling, from across a distant shore.
Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see. All of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, youre only sleeping.
What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home.
And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. All souls pass.
Hope fades, Into the world of night. Through shadows falling, Out of memory and time.
Dont say, We have come now to the end. White shores are calling. You and I will meet again. And youll be here in my arms, Just sleeping.
What can you see, on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises. The ships have come, to carry you home.
And all will turn, to silver glass. A light on the water. Grey ships pass Into the West.
One of my closest friend's moving to Florida next week. In her memory, I drew a composite piece of her and four of our closest friends. The hand is mine.
I spent a very long time on it. Like a looooooooooooong time. Especially on Sarah. Because I took so long on Sarah, though, the rest was a little rushed. In fact the other four portraits I did in 2 days. A personal record? And, surprise, surprise, I'm actually quite pleased with the result.
Trust me, the original looked way better. I actually made prints for my friends (the ones pictured), and it came out waaay dark, so I guess this version isn't too bad....
From clockwise from the left: Sarah, Jocelyn, Jazzy!, Kayla and Kim.
Time: forever. okay, not really, but it felt like it.
Thanks. I guess it's both easier and harder to draw something personal. I actually felt inspired to work on it, but at the same time, I kept wanting to stop, as it made me want to go off somewhere and just feel bad that she was leaving. Thanks for the , too!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
